Wedding Dreams

This one will be the post on my actual wedding! I had many wedding visions and dreams- I put them all together in a powerpoint to help my vendors and bridesmaids share in my vision. It actually helped out a lot and gave everyone a central point of reference when thinking about our wedding. The theme that popped into my silly little head from the get-go was an opposite wedding. I wanted to wear color and have all the guests come in white/cream. How hard was that to pull off? Well fortunately, most of my guests were gracious enough to comply to the suggested dress code (for which I provided examples on our wedding website). The pictures of the ceremony were so pretty with all the crowd in whites! I wore a designer blue/green silk-chiffon gown, bridesmaids were in royal blue, and groomsmen and groom in dark grey. {All photos below courtesy of our AMAZING photographer, Jimmy Cheng, of Jimmy Cheng Photography}

Our overarching feeling of the wedding was classy rustic with a "love plant" theme. Steven & I have a running thing because we can never keep a plant alive together. The first one we had as a couple we dubbed our "love plant"... it died, but our love lived on. Thank goodness.

We did a ton of DIY projects and decoration. We had the newly obligatory photobooth (gifted to us by my closest friends) and we had a candy bar and a dessert bar, provided by Michele Chen of i-heart-baking, posts of our wedding dessert table can be found here. She is absolutely fabulous and I am so in love with her amazing work! It was so delicious that I only got ONE bite of a cookie my cousin Russell shoved in my mouth- everything else was wiped out before dinner even started! Cake was done by Olivia Lin of the Yummy Year Project- all proceeds went to help feed children in Africa. Good Cause + Good Cake? Yes, please.

DIY jars (collected over 1 year), wooden flowers by Accents & Petals, DIY favors

Flea market scouted wooden box, handpainted by Dannielle Hankins

Hand-sewn vellum & paper programs with cardstock heart & mini clothes pin

Escort Cards: Tri-fold chicken wire screen with "parking ticket" envelopes with each person's name on it. Inside was a "parking ticket" with the guest table designation

Gorgeous venue

We had an "oopsie station" since all the guests were wearing white! Included bleach pens, stain stick, chalk for cover-up... as well as lotion, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, band-aids, tissue, mints & gum

Hand-made kraft paper & crepe paper flowers covered the wooden arch

Cutting cake, toss bouquet, garter on a football, hand-made doily chandeliers.

More to come next time....
